Four new routes on budget airlines are starting in 2007, now that Romania has joined the EU.

Bucharests 2nd airport at Baneasa is actually closer to the city centre than Otopeni. Wizzair fly there from Luton with Easyjet (from Gatwick) and Blue Air (Stansted) due to commence flights during the autumn. Wizzair are also starting to fly from Luton to Targu Mures in Transylvania, which will be ideal for those wanting to visit Romania’s mountain attractions.
